1. Files You Upload
When you upload a PDF for conversion, the file is processed on our server in a temporary directory. Once the conversion is complete, the original PDF is deleted immediately. The resulting Markdown file is stored temporarily and is deleted after you download it or after a short period, whichever comes first. We do not retain, read, or share the contents of your files.
2. API Keys
If you provide an API key (for OpenAI or Google Gemini image processing), the key is used only for the duration of the conversion request and is never stored on disk. It is removed from server memory as soon as the conversion completes.
3. Server Logs
Our web server may record standard access logs, including your IP address, browser user-agent string, and the pages you visit. These logs are used solely for diagnosing technical issues and are not shared with third parties.

pdfs2txt itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services used on this site may set cookies as described below.
5. Google AdSense and Advertising Cookies
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing activity.

All connections to pdfs2txt are encrypted via HTTPS. Uploaded files are processed in isolated temporary directories and deleted promptly. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect data during processing.

pdfs2txt is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
